Greetings and salutations! My name is Caroline Marolda and I’m a 21 year old currently living in Charlotte, North Carolina. I graduated from UNC Charlotte this past spring semester and earned degrees in English and Dance. Currently, there is a global pandemic happening as I compose this blog post, and while I continue to socially distance myself from others and look for employment, I decided to create a blog where I can showcase my thoughts and continue to work on my writing skills. So, allow me to introduce myself. I was first enrolled in dance classes when I was 5 years old, starting with a tap and jazz combo class and adding ballet into the mix at age 7. While I consider ballet one of my favorite genres of dance today, that wasn’t always the case. I may or may not have cried in the car on the way home after ballet class on several occasions because I didn’t like it… Anywho, my feelings towards ballet clearly changed somewhere along the way because I chose to enroll in a college dance program that has a good amount of ballet in its curriculum. Another thing I love is the written word. Books have been a passion of mine since early on in high school when they provided me with a comfortable place to escape to. While my tastes in literature have evolved from strictly reading young adult books, YA literature will always hold a special place in my heart. I tend to reach for new adult and contemporary fiction novels nowadays, and The Hating Game by Sally Thorne is my current favorite book. My dream job is to work as an editor for a book publishing company in New York City and help publish books that will give readers the same feeling of comfort that books give me.

I’ve always considered myself as more of a behind the scenes type of person, which is why I tend to gravitate towards editing rather than writing. But I want to work on improving my writing skills and get over my not-so-slight fear of sharing my work with other people. Sharing my writing requires a certain vulnerability that I usually stray away from, so this blog is my way of working on that. With all of that being said, I’m excited about starting this blog! I already have several ideas for other posts, and I’m looking forward to starting to share my thoughts with the world and having another creative outlet to put my energy into. Thanks for reading all of this, and I hope you stick around!
